California's obsession with the world of Kush is undeniable. An indica driven market has led to the development of truly world class genetics. The 707 Headband captures this essence with the combination of two titans of the North American genetic hybrid movement.
HSO 707 Headband
The original elite Headband cut we received from our friends at Emerald Mountain was already built to epic proportions. The objective for many breeders in California has been to improve the performance of the O.G. Kush, while still capturing the essence it provides. Our 707 Headband was intended to bring out the unmistakable allure of the O.G. but create a more grower friendly and higher yielding pheno.
Humboldt Seeds 707 Headband gearing up for the start of a new season. Fungal based compost teas are implemented to maximize nutrient effiecency.
There's a few ways to do this. One, is to line breed, furthering genetic development through selection but some genotypes maintain their share of problems. O.G. is known for having a temperamental metabolism as well as being prone to powdery mildew. With such wide spread popularity and yet such finicky plant as the orignal O.G., the door is wide open for improvement as many have attempted to do so. Our cross of the Headband with our True OG male was created to select an O.G. leaning phenotype with the hopes of establishing a higher producing and more viable plant. We found an amazing pheno out of 500 after the second backcross. The final selection maintained a higher resistance and an impressive flower production finishing in 10 weeks. The expressions were equipped with pungent aromas and a colorful display of massive well uniformed frosty colas. With deep purple, red and orange hues, this plant has undeniable beauty backed by an intensely powerful high. Though the physical expression is somewhat sativa dominant it remains strongly indica. Indoors the 707 Headband is known for rapid vegetative growth allowing for fast turnovers into the flowering period. 707HB is slightly nitrogen demanding with a high metabolism . Strong and sturdy infrastructure supports tight long nodal sites filling out rapidly. Doubling your trellis is recommended. The 707 also performs well in sea of green considering ample spacing between fan leaves allow for long terminal sites. Outdoors HSO 707 Headband can expect to be harvested by the end of October. Highly resistant to mold though under wet enough conditions they're slightly susceptible to powdery mildew. We encourage taking preventive measures as we experience very little issues even with periods of humidity reaching 80-90%. These are common in the finishing months in the Humboldt region. Cages are recommended for long season growth accompanied by secondary soft trellis for the final stages. Be sure to clean the undergrowth thoroughly as production is best left in the main terminal and supporting sites. When in controlled footprints the 707Headband fills space rather quickly and we advice you when growing in beds to allow for more spacing as the aggressive root system needs room to run. For small and large pots be sure to compensate for space by putting them into the flowering period early on after the final transplant. Taking into account the high metabolism, this will insure availability for the plant for the complete 10 week cycle. The flavor profile is what most people in California have been chasing after for years. Strong spicy citrus overtones followed by sharp complex finish. We strive to find the phenotypes with distinguishing expressions palatable to the highest standards. This O.G. Kush leaning taste is backed by a much improved yield from the original late 90's version of O.G making it commercial friendly as well. The effects provided by the 707Headband breaks away from the traditional cerebral high you would find with most strong indicas. This hybrid combination actually has a very uplifting euphoric effect lasting for hours. Great for outdoor activity and creative thinking as well. Day-time functional with moderate use makes this quite more versatile than most Kush varieties. We at HSO are incredibly excited to have release this distinctly unique and highly demanded phenotype now available in feminized form. A true collector's piece. RESISTANCE X YIELD X FLAVOR = HSO 707 HEADBAND
